Ongoing investigation leads to seizure of drugs and firearms

Authorities in Cass County confiscated a “significant quantity” of drugs and firearms on Monday, June 16. Sheriff Bryan Welk reports law enforcement are involved in an ongoing investigation into trafficking, sales and use of methamphetamine in Cass County and surrounding areas.
According to the sheriff’s report, a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine was located and seized by law enforcement in Cass County, including the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.
Authorities conducted a search warrant at a residence in Kego Township in rural Longville, Minnesota area, and found numerous firearms.
The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the United State Postal Inspection Service, the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, the FBI Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, and the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisted in this operation.
This remains an ongoing investigation.
