Victim identified in fatal Duluth stabbing

Duluth responded to a reported stabbing in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on the evening of June 28.

Arriving around 7:30 p.m., first responders found one victim, a woman who had been stabbed on the 600 block of North 27th Avenue West. According to the initial press report, she was found dead from her wounds, and attempts to revive her were not successful. Authorities have now identified the victim as 49-year-old Anissa Cope.

Police apprehended a 37-year-old male suspect on Interstate 35 in Pine County without incident later that evening. He is being held at St. Louis County Jail pending charges.
