There’s a new photo op outside the DECC on Harbor Drive that’s perfect for anyone who loves Duluth

The letters are 6 ft tall and span 27 ft. It spells Duluth, and to the left, there is a heart which you can sit inside. The sign is already being put to good use. The DECC says that the sign has been especially popular among recent graduates.

The sign was made possible by a donation from local philanthropist Judy Gordon. She got the idea while traveling in Argentina and Chile when she saw a big letter sign with the names of cities. Gordon thought Duluth needed one too, so she paid for it.

The DECC says it’s been a multi-year effort. Judy hopes it will help make Duluth an international tourist destination.
