Justin Liles: Tracking snow, warmer temperatures, rain, strong winds, and T’storms

March 11th: Light snow possible tonight

Light snow possible tonight

One of the common phrases you’ve likely heard in the Northland is “Just give it a day”, referring to drastic changes in 24 hours. Temperatures today have been 30° to 40° cooler than yesterday’s record high day. There is a small area of light snow that develops tonight in the border country.

Conditions will continue to increase the rest of the week as our dominant flow will be out of the south, ushering in moisture ahead of an emerging Colorado coming out of the Rockies. Models are still tracking all over by the end of the week and into the weekend to make a permanent call on totals We are still sitting at mostly rain and windy conditions through the weekend. Friday night into Saturday, the Northland may see a couple of thunderstorms pop up. There could even be some thundersnow farther west toward Grand Rapids, Brainerd, and Bemidji. Keep it tuned in this week for updates heading into the weekend.
