Justin Liles: Cold wind chills overnight, more snow on the horizon
This weekends snow was one many Northlanders wanted. Many kids seized the opportunity to head outside and play. Let’s not forget the much-needed snow for all the events coming up in the regions like the ALS Blizzard Tour and the Gunflint mail run taking place this weekend. The good news is that we are going to see more snow. We first must wait for a cold Monday night and Tuesday. Wind chill values will approach the -15° to -25°F range. There is a Cold Weather Advisory until 9am for Lake and Cook Counties.

It will be cold Tuesday morning but gradually warm by the afternoon. Our focus will then shift to another round of snow late Wednesday through Thursday. Most of the Northland will see about 3-5” of snow now. Wednesday night into Thursday will be the worst of the upcoming snow. Strong winds off the lake that may exceed 50 mph will create poor travel and lower visibilities Thursday morning. Travel all over Thursday morning will not be the best. Temperatures will warm by the weekend with another chance of light snow Saturday.
