High temperatures, low humidity, and gusty winds are in prime condition for the start of the wildfires. We are seeing several wildfires that have popped up around the region today. An Extreme Fire Weather warning is in effect for all of Minnesota, including Northland, until 9 pm tonight. We are likely going to see both major fires (Jenkins Creek and House Camp fires) continue to spread through the evening. Winds will die down overnight and give the emergency crews the chance to catch up. However, we are currently under a fire weather watch again from Tuesday.

Wind will pick up by Tuesday afternoon. Record high temperatures are possible all over the region, too. Any spot fire or random fire has the chance to spread quickly. Very little moisture is in the picture shortly. Changes to our weather will begin on Thursday. At this time, much colder temperatures along with much-needed rain return heading into the weekend. Highs this weekend will be in the low to mid-40s for most of the region. Temperatures will become a little more standard this weekend. It looks as if this will continue through the beginning of next week.
