Jenkins Creek Fire containment continues to increase, Camp House Fire nears full containment

Containment for the Camp House Fire remains at 90%, with crews continuing to look for any remaining hotspots around the containment lines.

The fire is still at 12,071 acres burned, and there are currently 311 personnel working on the fire.

Crews are now focusing on suppression repair, which is helps the land recover at a faster rate, especially in any areas where heavy equipment, like bulldozers, were used to slow the fire growth.

Tasks of suppression repair include things like stabilizing soil, restoring natural damage, and reducing any long-term impacts of these operations.

Containment on the Jenkins Creek Fire increased from 32 percent on Thursday to 47 percent on Friday. There are currently 271 personnel working on the fire.

Crews are continuing to build containment lines, and are focusing on identifying any gaps within the perimeter so it can be fully closed.

They are still using Infrared technology to detect any smoldering materials that may be tough to spot, and mastication equipment is being used to clear any large debris.

Most of the other heavy equipment has been demobilized, though helicopters do remain active in aiding the fight.
