Jenkins Creek Fire containment increases significantly; Camp House Fire remains at 90%

While the Camp House Fire remains at 90% containment, while the Jenkins Creek Fire’s containment increases from 47% on Friday to 70% on Saturday.

With fire activity significantly reduced and containment increasing on both fires, some resources are being reassigned to a new Initial Attack group in preparation for the Memorial Day Weekend. The group will remain prepared for any new fire that starts.

Camp House Fire

Firefighters took full advantage of the lower winds over the past few days to make progress in securing the containment line. Crews will continue patrolling and putting out smoldering debris around the perimeter on Saturday.

Jenkins Creek Fire

On Friday, handcrews worked to seek out and put out hotspots around the perimeter. Helicopters will continue to be available to assist in firefighting operations throughout the weekend. The priority remains clearing heavy debris along the 113 Road that could potentially become fuel for future wildfires. Connecting and strengthening the containment on the northwest portion of the fire remains a primary focus for Saturday.
