Person in custody after shots fired

A teenager is now in custody after shooting a gun at Douglas County deputies at approximately 4:35pm on Tuesday May 6th.
The incident happened on State Trunk Highway 35 in the Town of Superior.
Authorities responded to reports of a teenager throwing and breaking things. The responding deputy spoke with the teenager who then went into the house before remerging with a firearm.
Shots were fired at authorities over the course of an hour, before the suspect was taken into custody.
“No injuries were reported in this incident,” says the Douglas County Sheriff’s office. “The Town of Superior VFD provided stand-by as did Mayo Ambulance. Sheriff Izzard commends the responding deputies, especially Deputies Fossum, Newton and Sgt. Knutson for their professionalism in bringing about a peaceful conclusion to what could have been a tragic outcome.”
