Despite really challenging and windy conditions, students in the Fired Up! High School Cook Off enjoyed themselves on Tuesday, making their best burgers.

This was the second year of the event. Four teams competed, three from Duluth and one from Rock Ridge.

They grilled up at Lake Superior College. A panel of 10 judges enjoyed the taste test, and ranked the choices based on flavor and presentation. And then the public got to try the burgers as well.

Duluth East’s team that made the Bahn Mi burger took home first place. Congratulations to all the students who participated!
