Grandma’s Marathon prepping for possible changes as they track overnight storms

Grandma’s Marathon is preparing to potentially make slight changes to their big race as they track storms expected to bring hail and strong winds into the area overnight.

Storms are anticipated to clear around 3am, but in a Facebook post Grandma’s Marathon said they may need to make minor alterations in the case conditions last longer than expected.

“Our staff is working to provide all essential services for tomorrow’s races – i.e. water/aid stations, medical support – but some aesthetic and comfort pieces of race day may be affected – i.e. start and finish line structures, tents, signage, and potentially more.”

The post went on to explain bigger changes may need to be made.

“If the logistics of race day need to be altered, we will communicate that information before 4:00 a.m. tomorrow.”
