Garage considered total loss after fire in St. Louis County

A detached garage was destroyed in a fire Monday night on the 5900 block of Old Miller Trunk Highway.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m.

Officials say the fire was likely caused by a diesel heater that had been running earlier in the evening.

No one was inside at the time, and no foul play is suspected. The garage and its contents were a total loss.

Multiple agencies responded, including Grand Lake Fire, Canosia Fire, Hermantown Fire, Solway Fire, Air Guard Fire, and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad.

Authorities have not reported any injuries.
