Victim identified in fatal vehicle-bicyclist crash in Chisholm

According to the Chisholm Police Department a vehicle and bicyclist crashed at the intersection of Lake Street and 2nd Avenue in Chisholm on Tuesday June 24th at 7:03pm.

The bicyclist, a 22 year old man, was critically injured in the crash and died on the scene despite lifesaving measures taken by first responders. Authorities have now identified the victim as Justin Tyme Wix, age 22 of Chisholm.

“The loss of Justin has deeply affected those who knew him and the Chisholm community as a whole,” said Chisholm Chief of Police James Vukad. “Our hearts are with his family, friends, loved ones, and all those involved as they navigate this difficult time.

The driver, a 42 year old man from Chisholm, had no signs of impairment and remained on the scene as officers investigated.

The incident remains under investigation. The Chisholm Police Department is being assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
