On February 24th, around 4:46pm the Virginia Police Department officers got a report a hit and run traffic accident near the intersection of 6th Avenue and 9th Street North.
The report came in that an elderly male pedestrian had been struck by a truck that then proceeded to flee the scene. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers located the elderly man. He was later transported to the hospital nearby with what were believed to be “non-life-threatening injuries.”
While responding to the report, a Saint Louis County Deputy located the suspect vehicle a couple blocks away.
The driver admitted that he thought he may have hit someone, but was unsure so he did not stop.
According to the Virgnia Police Department, the truck driver was released on his own recognizance pending charges.
