Duluth woman indicted for drug trafficking charges

A Duluth Woman has been indicted on drug trafficking charges and on illegal possession of a firearm, according to the District of Minnesota U.S. Attorney’s Office.
According to court documents, on December 8, 2023, 30-year-old Khadijah Denise Preston, was found in
possession of a Smith & Wesson model M&P Shield M2.0 handgun. On October 9, 2024, Preston
possessed fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
The firearm charge came about due to the fact that Preston has a prior felony conviction in Hennepin County for second degree assault. She is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition at any time.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says The indictment charges Preston with one count of illegal possession of a firearm and two counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Duluth Police Department, the Lake Superior
Violent Offender Task Force, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, and Homeland Security
Investigations.
