Duluth Police arrest vehicle prowler

The Duluth Police Department reports that they have arrested an individual suspected in multiple vehicle prowls that have occurred at several trailhead parking lots throughout the city. Police arrested a 36-year-old male, pending charges, on Friday, February 7.

Police also recovered several stolen items while executing their search warrant.

“Good work to members of the Duluth Police Department’s Investigations Division for their extensive investigation into this case and holding [the suspect] accountable for his actions,” said Mattie Hjelseth, Duluth Police Department Public Information Officer. “We want to remind everyone to keep valuables out of sight and to lock your doors while you’re out and about enjoying the trails.”

The suspect’s pending charges include Financial Card Fraud, Possession of Burglary Tools, Felony Theft, Motor Vehicle Tampering, and 5th Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.
