Aurora woman charged with arson and assault

(St. Louis County)
Prosecutors have filed charges against an Aurora woman related to a fire from last week.
The criminal complaint against Stephanie Beddo lists arson, assault, and one drug crime.
Authorities responded to a fire at Irongate Apartments and Townhomes last Friday.
According to the complaint, Beddo was outside and threw a lighter on the ground in front of a sheriff’s deputy. She reportedly said, “I lit it up.”
Law enforcement believed she was under the influence of controlled substances, so they brought her to the hospital.
While there, she allegedly kicked a staff member in the back.
Then, at the St. Louis County Jail, a corrections officer said they found a bag of fentanyl on Beddo.
