Arson damages Western Duluth Little League concession stand, GoFundMe set up to help
The Little League season is underway, and kids are having fun at bat and running the bases.
But the Western Duluth Little League is facing a bit of a setback.
Someone tried to break in to their concession stand and then started it on fire, just as they were beginning to get it stocked up.
Marisa Richardson was one of the moms who found the damage. “It’s really disheartening to see someone do that, since it’s for the kids.” She also coaches a team, and is on the board.
A new popcorn machine and hotdog cooker were ruined, along with rows of snacks.
Player Jayce Hinnenkamp added, “I was confused, like why would someone do that. It’s just a Little League stand.”
They’ve set up mobile concessions in the meantime, and are hoping to have it cleaned up and ready for business in time for a major tournament in June.
