Apple Valley Police confirm missing person deceased

Update as of January 22: The Apple Valley Police Department has confirmed the Shuefaub Xiong died in St. Paul on Tuesday, January 21.
Original Story: The Apple Valley Police are seeking help locating a man who has been missing for nearly a week. Shuefaub Xiong, 42, was last seen at a Richfield Target after leaving his job at Dominoes in Apple Valley, Minnesota on January 14.
Xiong is an Asian male, 5’8” tall, weighing 215 lbs with brown hair and eyes. His photograph is above.
Authorities say his vehicle, a red Toyota Camry with Minnesota with plate CWT-545, has been located unoccupied in Superior, Wisconsin on Monday, January 20.
“A witness in the area where the vehicle was parked believed that they saw Mr. Xiong in the vehicle on Saturday 1/18/25 at approximately 4 PM,” explained the Apple Valley Police Department. “Further, an acquaintance of Mr. Xiong reports they spoke in Roseville, Minnesota on Saturday 1/18/25 at approximately 8 PM. We are unsure how Mr. Xiong traveled or if he has obtained another vehicle.
Investigators now believe that Mr. Xiong might be experiencing a mental health crisis. Given the cold temperatures and uncharacteristic behavior, investigators are continuing to follow up on any leads, as it is critical he is located and provided care.”
Authorities say there is no indication that Xiong is a threat to others, but is letting the public know he has a permit to carry and is known to carry a firearm.
