Appalled and Horrified: Vance Boelter’s wife issues first statement

Vance Boelter
Jenny Boelter has released her first public statement since her husband, Vance Boelter, allegedly shot and killed Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and wounded Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. Jenny Boelter has retained Halberg Criminal Defense who released her statement on Thursday, June 26.
Mrs. Boelter extended her condolences to the Hortman and Hoffman families, saying “Our condolences are with all who are grieving during this unimaginably difficult time, and we are praying daily for them.” She stated that they were “absolutely shocked, heartbroken and completely blindsided,” by what happened, saying the acts of terror do not “at all align with our beliefs as a family.”
“It is a betrayal of everything we hold true as tenets of our Christian faith,” Jenny Boelter said in her statement. “We are appalled and horrified by what occurred and our hearts are incredibly heavy for the victims of this unfathomable tragedy.”
Her statement contradicts reports that she and family members were involved in a traffic stop near Onamia, Minnesota on June 14, while the search for Vance Boelter was still active.

Jenny Boelter now claims she was not pulled over and met with agents at the gas station on her own accord after law enforcement contacted her.
“From the moment we were first contacted by law enforcement, we have fully cooperated with investigators and responded to their every request,” her statement says. Jenny says she received a call from law enforcement on the morning of June 14, and immediately drove to meet agents at the gas station. “We were not pulled over; we parked and waited until they arrived,” she said. “When they did, we voluntarily agreed to meet with them, answer their questions, provide all items they requested, and cooperate with all searches.”
While Jenny Boelter’s statement did not directly acknowledge her husband’s role in the killings, she did thank law enforcement.
“We are grateful for the diligent and professional efforts of the authorities to fully investigate these crimes,” she stated. “We thank law enforcement for apprehending Vance and protecting others from further harm.
