Another Northland protest now calling for action from congress

Protestors gathered at the Copper Top Church in Duluth at rush hour with cowbells, horns and signs to show their disagreement with congress on Tuesday May 6th.

The protest comes as one of many organized by Northland Protests who have several protests and rallies lined up in coming weeks.

Tuesday’s protest called for congressional action against moves taken by the Trump administration in three areas including tariffs, due process and federal funding.

The main message from protestors was “call your representatives”.

“Get out there, and call your reps,” said Curt Leitz a concerned citizen. “We have checks and balances for a reason. That’s why our nation has stood for as long as it has. And without those, we don’t have our country anymore. So, demand that Congress perform its constitutional duty and check some balances on the executive branch.”

WDIO reached out to Congressman Pete Stauber’s office for comment but have not heard back.
