Animal Allies to reopen after pipe leak

On Friday, January 17th, Animal Allies in Duluth reported a potential frozen pipe has burst in their sprinkler system, causing severe flooding within one of the main rooms of the building.

According to the Animal Allies Facebook Page, “We unfortunately had a pipe freeze on our sprinkler system and are experiencing severe flooding. All of the animals are safe, and we will keep already scheduled adoption appointments for the day.”

Animal Allies will now reopen on Sunday, January 19th after clearing the room of standing water and inspecting the burst pipe – concluding the burst may have been due to the structural integrity of the piping.

“We will be taking all the steps possible to ensure everything is properly checked out and intervention taken to avoid something like this from happening again,” said the Animal Allies Facebook account.

Animal Allies is also looking for financial and labor support as they clean out the affected area and replace the damaged items lost in the flooding. To donate, go to @AnimalAlliesDLH on Venmo, or DONATE | Animal Allies MN.
