GoFundMe set up for family of Mt. Iron man

Benjamin Sherwood of Mountain Iron was found deceased at his residence Wednesday morning, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office. Officials do not suspect any foul play.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man.
39-year-old, Benjamin James Sherwood was last seen around 10am Tuesday morning at the 8800 block of Main Street. Sherwood’s wife told the deputies that her husband had left on foot. She also said he had sustained an injury to his back and neck after recently slipping on some ice.
Benjamin is described as a white, 39-year-old make, about 5’8″ tall, bald head with a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue coat, with an orange fur-lined hood. As well as khaki pants, dark brown boots, and an orange hat with a wide dark green stripe on it.
Authorities say Benjamin suffers from a prior traumatic brain injury. The search began at around 4pm on March 11th. With efforts of the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office Rescue Squad continuing into the early morning hours. Both ground and aerial searches have been unsuccessful so far.
There was one promising lead indicting Benjamin was possibly seen near the North 8 Avenue West and 16th Street North in Virginia at approximately 4 PM. Residents and businesses located in Mountain Iron, Walmart, L&M, Parkville and the northwestern part of the city of Virginia are urged to check their security cameras for images of Benjamin.
