26-year-old killed in single-vehicle accident in Sawyer County

The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office reports that 26-year-old Anjeni Del Real, of Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin, was killed in a car accident Friday, April 18 in the Town of Winter, southeast of Hayward.

Authorities state that the Sawyer County Communications Center received a 911 call from an iPhone Crash indicator.

“Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 2016 Honda CRV was traveling eastbound on County Highway B when the vehicle left the roadway while negotiating a slight left curve in the highway,” explained Sheriff Dog Mrotek. “The vehicle entered the south ditch of the eastbound lane striking a driveway causing it to become airborne and overturning several times before striking several trees and coming to rest.”

Del Real was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sawyer County Deputies were assisted by the Sawyer County Ambulance Service.

The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office and the Sawyer County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the crash.
