Suspect sentenced for August stabbing in Virginia

Jordan Lee Raati, 32, was sentenced on February 3 for a Virginia stabbing that occurred in August of 2024. He was charged with 4 felonies, 1st-degree aggravated robbery, two counts of 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and one count of 3rd-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm, but was only convicted on the one count of 3rd degree assault.
His sentence included 125 days of jail time, 3 years of supervised probation, and payment of restitution.
The original incident was on August 14, 2024. Officers responded at 1:16 a.m. to the 200 block of Third Street and found a 51-year-old man who was stabbed multiple times, and 44-year-old woman who had a cut on her forehead.
Raati entered their home, and an argument ensued after he tried to take a puppy that belonged to the victims. He then pulled out a knife and inflicted non-life-threatening injuries on the victims. The dog was unharmed.
