Local bar hosts first responders appreciation dinner
Blue Max held their inaugural first responders appreciation dinner on Sunday, June 8.
The recent wildfires in the Northland were a driving force for the idea.
“This is something that we just kind of recently thought up because of the local wildfires in our area. It kind of hit close to home because it’s not far from here in Friedenberg.
So, we just wanted to do something to give back to the community and the people that were affected by the fires,” said Nikki Saari, Blue Max employee.
Blue Max says they have a lot of loyal customers that are first responders, so it felt fitting to show them how much they appreciate what they do for the community.
Along with food, there was a silent auction featuring donated prizes.
All proceeds from the event will be given to those who have been affected by the wildfires.
