Ancestral Embers Native Music Fest: Three locations across the Northland

A powerful celebration of Indigenous music and culture will sweep across northern Minnesota in April, as the Ancestral Embers Native Music Fest takes the stage for a three-night event.

Organizers say Ancestral Embers is more than just a music festival. It is also a space to honor and celebrate Native artistry, culture, and resilience. The music festival is free. The event features a lineup of Native artists, bringing their voices, stories, and talent to Nett Lake, Cloquet, and Duluth.

  • April 2 – Bois Forte Government Building, 5344 Lake Shore Drive in Nett Lake from 6 PM – 9 PM
  • April 3 – Fond Du Lac Tribal Community College Commons, 2101 14th St. in Cloquet from 6 PM – 9 PM
  • April 4 – Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center, 202 W 2nd St. in Duluth from 6 PM – 9 PM

The festival will feature a stellar lineup of Indigenous musicians, including:

  • Keith Secola – Legendary Native American musician and songwriter.
  • Lelan “Itz Lil Lee” Leecy – A dynamic performer bringing energy and passion to the stage.
  • Orville Councillor – Powerful vocals and storytelling through music.
  • Jaime Sky – A talented artist blending contemporary and traditional sounds.
  • Leonard Sumner – A soulful songwriter with impactful lyrics.
  • Jada Brown – A rising voice in Indigenous music.

Each night will bring electrifying performances that blend tradition with contemporary sounds, creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

The free event is made possible by KBFT Bois Forte Tribal Radio 89.9 FM Community Radio, and funding from the Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment.
