Crow used to do a live version of her song "Redemption Day" as a duet with Johnny Cash by singing along to footage of him. Her original version appeared on her 1996 self-titled album.

Cash approached her about recording it in 2003, but he did not put out his version until 2010. Now Crow has put out the song as a duet with Cash.

Crow says knowing how Cash felt about the song, she feels he would have had some wisdom to share about what's happening in America now.
