Country Star Luke Combs Talks Opry Memories and Friends

The newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Luke Combs, has been getting congratulatory messages and gifts from his new peers at the country music institution.

Before his induction this month, the country star recalled some of his favorite Opry memories and talked about being welcomed into the family.

"Darius Rucker texted me this morning and I talk to Craig (Morgan) all the time," said Combs. "It's just been a really awesome experience overall… People have left me gifts at the front door with congratulatory notes and things like that. So it's all pretty overwhelming but it's been really awesome."

When asked about one of his most memorable experiences on the Opry stage, Combs joked that it was actually pretty embarrassing.

"I played a whole set with my zipper down one time," he laughed. "I came off and everyone was like, 'Man, great show. You played the whole thing with your fly down.' So that was a mistake that I learned from very quickly. I've never played a show since with my fly down."

But Combs said what he really appreciates most about the Opry is feeling like he belongs.

"When you come here, you're just treated like you're supposed to be here, like you deserve to be here and that is just… it goes a really long way with me," he said. "I'm just honored to be a part of it."
