If you happened to find a hat or a pair of mittens around town Saturday, it was not a mistake!

This is because Yarn Harbor kicked off their annual Warm Up the City event.

Each year, the shop distributes hundreds of items to parks, bus stops and busy corners around both Duluth and Superior.

The items are labeled with tags that read “I am not lost. I need a good home. If you need me, take me home with you!”

Organizers said they saw more donations this year than any other.

“We received the most donations we've ever received. We have so much that we will be re-donating some of the items to Chum and Damiano. Bigger items, such as, blankets, coats, vests, children's boots,” Cameron Herrity, an employee at Yarn Habor said.

Hats, mittens and more were distributed today with the help of donations and volunteers.
