A dream came true for a 17-year-old Minnesota girl battling cancer Saturday.

Paige More of Edina thought that she was heading to Moose Lake to close the family cabin for the season, but when she arrived, she was met with quite the surprise.

That surprise was a shipping container that has been converted into her own personal haven.

It was made possible by Wishes & More— a Minnesota based organization that works to ensure dreams can become a reality, no matter what obstacles children face.

“I never in my life expected that I would be able to get something like this,” More said.

The inspiration for the converted shipping container came from More’s love for tiny, ecologically friendly homes.

“I really like the idea of tiny homes or houses that are ecologically efficient, so that’s kind of how I got the original idea and then I was looking around at different forms and thought a shipping container would be really cool,” More said.

During her time in the hospital, More’s parents say she dreamed about it often.

“Paige has spent 121 days in the hospital and so there were a lot of times where this wish was so important and so we are so grateful for it,” Mike More, her dad said.

Now, More looks forward to spending time in her dream shack. And, she hopes her dream come true will inspire others to chase after theirs.

“It’s really good to be on the other side of thing,” More said. “I'm so surprised that I was able to get through it because at some points, it really felt like it was never going to end, but now it’s really nice that even when you feel down, there's a light at the end of the tunnel no matter what you are going through.”
