A garage in West Duluth sustained an estimated $20,000 worth of damage in a fire on Monday evening.

Crews responded to the garage in the 3700 block of Grand Avenue shortly before 7:30.

On scene, they noticed the two-car garage fully engulfed in flames, but were quickly able to knock down the fire.

"As far as the fire goes, the first crew in made a very good knockdown, so obviously we don't want fires to happen, but when they do, we want it to be efficient like it was today," said Duluth Fire Department Assistant Chief Dennis Edwards.

Edwards says no injuries were reported, but that a car that was in the garage may have been damaged in the fire.

The Duluth Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause.

Crews from Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley, and Downtown responded to the fire.
