Voting for the Twin Ports 7th annual Christmas Lighting Challenge begins Friday at 5 p.m.

Starting November 19th, businesses and homes have signed up to decorate their stores and residences in the yearly community competition. Residents are encouraged to head out and view the displays in the greater Twin Ports area and vote for their favorites.

Voting, which is done by the community, for both homes and businesses begins December 3rd and ends December 20th. The contest is free to enter and those looking to participate can register until December 5th.

Homes or businesses can sign up on the Christmas Lighting Challenge website.

Winners in each sponsored city will receive special recognition at an award ceremony. Winners in Duluth, Superior, Cloquet and Hermantown will receive a gift basket with prizes and gift cards from local retailers and a personalized award to commemorate their win.

The final day to vote is December 20th and results will be released on December 22nd.
