Trump supporters gather in Duluth Harbor

Updated: September 26, 2020 10:56 PM

The Duluth Harbor was filled with boats and onlookers supporting President Donald Trump Saturday.

Boats traveled under the aerial lift bridge and down the Park Point shoreline while onlookers cheered from the shore.

This comes just days before President Donald Trump's debate with Joe Biden on Tuesday and his plans to speak in Duluth on Wednesday.

Joel Majchrzak of Duluth was one of many people in attendance Saturday. He said he was happy with the turn out.

"It's interesting to see Minnesota as a battleground state cause I don't think it has been in 30-40 years so it's interesting,” Majchrzak said.

Republican Congressman Pete Stauber made an appearance at Saturday’s event.

Stauber said he wanted to show President Donald Trump what Minnesota has to offer come Wednesday.

"Whenever you can bring the leader of the free world to your congressional district to show him your economic drivers and what matters—the national security interest that, for example, the Iron Range plays, our Harbor plays, whenever you can show the administration and the leader of the free world what we can offer, we want to do that,” Stauber said.

WDIO will cover the Presidential Debate on Tuesday beginning at 8:00pm and President Donald Trump's visit on Wednesday.
