Police responded to a 911 call for a travel trailer fully engulfed on the 6400 block of Beckman Road and a mobile home that was also on fire.

The Grand Lake Fire Department and other surrounding fire agencies responded and put out the fires. Both structures were a total loss.

No one was inside the trailer or mobile home at the time, and no one was injured.

Authorities say witness statements and physical evidence at the scene suggested the fires being set intentionally. After deputies completed an initial investigation, the fire was determined to be arson.

A 53-year-old person of interest had fled the scene prior to police arriving, but he was later located coming out of a wooded area nearby.

He was arrested and is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on two possible charges of 1st Degree Arson.

Losses in the fires are estimated at $15,000.

The State Fire Marshals Office and Cloquet Fire District arson detection K-9 assisted with the initial investigation.
