Police say a person of interest in a Duluth shooting was arrested after a chase in Superior on Friday afternoon.

Duluth Police responded to the shooting in the Harbor Highlands neighborhood just before noon on Friday and found a 32-year-old who appeared to have two gunshot wounds. Police say they do not believe the injuries are life-threatening.

A short time later, Superior Police say an officer spotted a suspect vehicle in the shooting entering the city from the Bong Bridge. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop but the vehicle fled, leading police on a pursuit before crashing into a water holding pond in the Bilings Park area.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested without further incident and remained in custody Friday evening. Duluth Police confirmed that the driver is a person of interest in the shooting.

The person was taken to a hospital for treatment. His name and hometown have not been released.

There were at least a dozen evidence cones on the ground near an SUV as police investigated at the intersection of Village View Drive and Harbor Highlands Drive early Friday afternoon.
