Former Congressman Rick Nolan has given his support for Hannah Alstead, in her campaign to fill Duluth's at-large City Council seat.
In Duluth on Wednesday, Alstead was joined by Nolan and City Council President Renee Van Nett, who also gave her endorsement.
"Her remarkable ability to bring people together, to fix things, to get things done," said Nolan. "She's always inclusive, she's well balanced. Hannah is ready to begin serving the City of Duluth on day one, on day one as a leader."
As a former student-athlete and graduate from Duluth Public Schools, Alstead has spent most of her life living in Duluth. She's also been the Northeastern Minnesota Representative for Senator Tina Smith.
"Duluth is a great city, but where Duluth is recognized as truly great, I say to those, 'we must to better together,'" said Alstead. "And as your next city councilor, I will make sure that we do."
If elected, Alstead says she will pull from her decade of experience in community outreach and policy work, to ensure that the Duluth City Council acts in an inclusive, equitable, and just manner.
