On Friday, Miller Hill Subaru donated 80 cozy blankets to the residents of the Steve O'Neil Apartments as part of their Love Promise. With the temperatures getting colder, staying warm makes all the difference for those experiencing homelessness.

Molly Lyons, Director of Communication at CHUM says it is more important than ever to have the community help those in need.

"It is absolutely fantastic, especially now. Yes, we are in the holiday giving season, but we are also in the middle of a pandemic," Lyons said. "So to be able to see the generosity from our community partners is absolutely fantastic, especially for CHUM and for those that we help."

With more than 500,000 Americans experiencing homelessness each night, Miller Hill Subaru is showing their support of CHUM and the Steve O’Neil Apartments as part of Subaru Share the Love event.

The blankets were distributed to the adults at the Steve O'Neil Apartments as well as families who are staying in the Family Shelter.  "It's another Christmas present that they weren't expecting in a time of need," Lyons added.

Steve O’Neil Apartments assist some of the youngest who are homeless in Duluth by providing 44 low-income units to families who have experienced chronic or long term homelessness and a 4 unit family shelter for those who are homeless with children.
