Man arrested in Morgan Park neighborhood after shooting, standoff

Duluth police arrested a 46-year-old man early Saturday morning after an alleged shooting, followed by a short standoff.

It began around 2:30am when officers responded to the report of a shooting on the 4700 block of Grand Ave.

When they arrived, officers located shell casings and spoke to witnesses, who said that the suspect shot at a victim after a dispute.

According to police, the suspect then left the scene and walked to his home in Morgan Park, where a short standoff ensued.

Eventually, the suspect surrendered and was arrested.

Charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Discharge, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm are pending.

No one was injured in this incident.

The incident remains under investigation.
