LSC Machine Tech Students Awarded Toolbox Scholarship

Updated: February 25, 2020 06:33 PM

Four students in the LSC Machine Tech Program were presented with a one of a kind scholarship that will help them in school and in their career.

Students were specially selected to be given a toolbox filled with $1,500 worth of equipment. It includes things like calipers, micrometers, indicators, and more.

There's a catch though, the students must complete the program and graduate in order to actually keep the tools.

"It is going to help and some employers they'll have you buy your own stuff and you have to have that on you. It does make it easier and will make it easier when I finally get a job in manufacturing,” said Trevor Lahti, a toolbox scholarship recipient.

The tools were funded through support from the Arrowhead Manufacturers and Fabricators Association. LSC staff hope the scholarship is an incentive for these students to work hard and really prepare themselves to enter the workforce once they finish the program.
