Lincoln Park Solar Garden unveiled

Updated: October 24, 2020 10:43 PM

Ecolibrium3, a local non-profit, unveiled the new Lincoln Park Solar Garden.

The array, located along I-35 at the eastern entrance of the Lincoln Park
neighborhood, is the neighborhood's first community-owned solar array.

"We're excited to unveil the completed array," Ecolibrium3 CEO Jodi Slick said, "Ecolibrium3 is committed to continuing to lead in Lincoln Park and to continue to develop this site as a place for community pride and use."

The Lincoln Park Solar Garden provides power to the Duluth Veterans' Place, a transitional housing project by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), and seeds Eco3's Community Energy Fund dedicated to assisting low-income families in times of crisis.

The value will allow MAC-V to increase the reach of their services offered to veterans experiencing or transitioning out of homelessness while the Fund will give families relief from the disruption of utility disconnection.
