If you are riding it for fun or getting from one place to another one, e-scooters have become an easy method of transportation, but riding them can present risks.
According to an article written by Simeone and Miller, "it's estimated that more than 1,500 people have been injured and nine people have been killed because of e-scooters since the fall of 2017."

There are several concerns when it comes to e-scooters and liability. One scooter company, Bird, has a deep 30-page rental, Wavier of Liability, and Release detailing, "by choosing to ride a vehicle, riders assume all responsibilities and risks for any injuries or medical condition."

Leaf Rides have been in operation for three years without issue or complaint, mentioned co-owner Jed Irvine. They attribute that to doing things differently, “we have designated parking zones located around town scooters and bikes must be left in to avoid scooters being littered all over the place," says Irvine.
