Lake Superior Zoo welcomes public to "Walk on the Wild Side"

Visitors at the Lake Superior Zoo are invited to "Walk on the Wild Side."

It's a "social-distance friendly" outdoor experience, and is being done in accordance with the zoo's first phase of reopening.

Director of Marketing & Development Haley Cope says it's just good to have people back at the zoo.

"It's really been great to see people back here, and enjoying it. They're tagging us on social media, checking in on Facebook, so I'm kind of able to vicariously see how they're enjoying it," Cope said.

Next Thursday, the indoor buildings at the zoo will be open just in time for the Fourth of July weekend.

The zoo is also working on getting wolves, and hoping to open a few new exhibits this summer.
