UPDATE: Toddler, two adults rescued from burning house in Virginia

A toddler and two adults were rescued from a burning house in Virginia Sunday morning.

The Northland FireWire reports multiple Iron Range fire departments responded to the fire in the 700 block of 11th Street North in Virginia.

The blaze was reported at approximately 11:20am.

According to the Northland FireWire, Virginia Police were the first to arrive on scene and officers from the Department rescued the toddler and two adults from the second story of the house using a neighbor's ladder.

The house is considered a total loss. Two adjacent houses also sustained damage, the Northland FireWire reports.

One Virginia firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Virginia Fire Marshal, with assistance from the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office.  

Virginia, Mountain Iron, Eveleth, Fayal Township, Gilbert, Pike-Sandy-Britt, Biwabik, Biwabik Township, Clinton, Cook, Cherry, Hoyt Lakes and Hibbing fire departments responded.

The St. Louis County Rescue Squad assisted with rehabilitation at the scene.
