The next time you're at the Duluth Public Library, grab a form for the Bookmark Design Contest!

The library is continuing their annual design contest, going on now through the end of the month. You get to create your own design for a potential bookmark, and library staff will vote on which designs they like the best. One winner will be chosen from each of the age categories, and those designs will be printed into real-life bookmarks.

"We'll just have them displayed, so people can pick whichever they want," says Heidi Harrison, one of the library's staff members. "And the winners get about 20 that they can hand out themselves."

Forms can be obtained in a number of different ways; they can be picked up in person from any of the Duluth Public Library locations, or they can be printed directly from the library's website. When it comes time for submission, forms can be dropped off at any library location, or sent in by mail or email.

The deadline to submit is May 31st. After a winner is chosen, bookmarks will be printed. Anyone of any age is encouraged to participate.

We've been doing it for about seven years, and we really just want to promote connection with the library," says Harrison. "We want kids to know that this is their place, this is a place for them come get books and learn about new things. We have art books, we have so many different things for them."
