Duluth Police arrest man involved in Hillside hit and run

Duluth Police arrested a man Friday morning for driving impaired and for his role in a hit and run crash.

At approximately 8:49 a.m. Friday Duluth Police responded to the intersection of 1st Avenue West and 4th Street.

According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that there was a hit and run at 2nd Avenue East and 3rd Street.

The suspect car was followed by a witness. The suspect’s car collided with more than one car on 1st Avenue West below 4th Street and came to a stop.

The driver then fled on foot. A passenger in the vehicle then drove the car and collided with additional vehicles on the Avenue.

The driver, a 21-year-old male, was found and arrested. He was lodged at the jail for driving while impaired and hit and run. The initial driver has not been located at this time.
