A new nonprofit called Duluth Aging Support has the goal of helping the senior community by providing important resources for their needs.
The nonprofit's website is an information hub with information on dementia, home care, transportation, COVID-19 information, and more.
They also have a section called Community Conversations where the executive director of the nonprofit interviews with caregivers and speaks with other local organizations.
"The U.S. Census Bureau says that the 2030's will be a transformative decade for our country. For the first time ever, adults aged 65 and older will outnumber children. That transformation is coming soon and we're happy to join the other aging support services in town to get ready for that challenge," said Cyndy Klinksiek, the program manager for reduced isolation at Duluth Aging Support.
During the pandemic another big concern is the feeling of isolation and loneliness among senior. Duluth Aging Support has a booklet through their website which offers resources and tips on combatting that.
