Chum was recognized by the Minnesota Department of Human Services Tuesday for their work with the homeless community in St. Louis County.
The DHS awarded Chum the Circle of Excellence award for providing food, shelter and other assistance to Minnesotans in need.
They recognized Chum for their year-long efforts to help Duluth’s homeless community stay fed and have adequate access to much needed services.
Chum was one of six recipients of the award.
“These six organizations have provided exceptional service to Minnesotans in need of assistance, which is especially remarkable during this extraordinarily difficult year,” Comissioner Jodi Harpstead said.
This was the ninth year of the Circle of Excellence awards.
Special consideration was given to organizations who provided exceptional service in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
