Congratulations, condolences, and celebrations kept the doors open at the Allison’s Hallmark store in Duluth for over 40 years.

But their final say was Friday for the familiar skywalk business selling cards and gifts.

The store opened its doors in 1978 and has helped thousands of us find the right cards and gifts for our loved ones.
Hallmark had to close partially because of the current financial market and the impact from COVID-19. Helping customers find the right card to share their feelings with others is something the owners say they will miss.

“A lot of people come in and say I’ve got a nephew turning 50 or 40 and I’d like to send them a card, can you show me where,” said co-owner George Cloutier. “The other thing that she's done is we've had a number of people come in that were blind. And she would spend good time, reading the card for them.”

The owners thank all of their loyal customers for their friendship and support over the years. And they look forward to spending more time with their grandkids now that the store is closed.
