Vikre Distillery now distributing sanitizing spray

Updated: March 17, 2020 08:53 PM

Hand sanitizer and any sort of sanitizing product has been in short supply since the COVID-19 outbreak. Vikre Distillery is doing what they can to help the community during this unprecedented shortage.

Since Vikre produces the main ingredients in sanitizer in the distilling process they use, they decided to begin making their own sanitizing spray to use in the distillery. They've since made the sanitizer available to the public for those who need it.

It's a sprayable sanitizer with 70% denatured alcohol. Vikre says the reason it's a sprayable version is because they haven't been able to obtain aloe used for thickening, as it's largely out of stock. Vikre's sprayable product is good for sanitizing surfaces, and is also safe for misting hands. They caution using the product on sensitive skin.

Vikre is offering the santizer to anyone who needs it, simply show up with your own container. You are asked to limit container size to 16 ounces. The distillery will have staff available from 12:00-5:00 p.m. for sanitizer filling over the coming days as its available. Just knock on the front doo it it's locked and the Vikre staff is ready to help. They're also offering gallon-sized pails of sanitizer for local businesses.

Vikre Distiller is located at 525 S Lake Ave #102 in Canal Park.
